Mosaics Martí, since 1913
The development of cement based products started during the second half of the 19th century. A particular section of these products was the cement tiles pavement.

In the beginning, the presses used to manufacture cement pavement were manual. Gradually, the application of steam to the presses advantageously replaced the action of man. Machines would lighten the workload, though ultimately it was the operator’s hands that ensured a well-
finished, quality product.
Cement tiles reached their peak with Modernism. Modernist architects designed the mosaics that shined in the main buildings and works of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
In 1913 Bernat Martí i Arlandis founded his cement tiles workshop in Manresa.
The family business continued with his sons Bernat, Ricard and Pere. In the late 1950s, other products (terrazzo, ceramics and stoneware) strongly entered the market and made the production of cement tiles completely disappear. Despite this, the quality, beauty and originality of the product remained.
For this reason, during the 1980s, Bernat Martí’s grandchildren recovered the production and tradition of cement tile pavements under the name of Mosaics Martí.
It has been a work of recovery of the productive process of the cement tiles and the auxiliary industry: rehabilitation of the presses, adjustment of the molds, and creation of stencils, among others.
At Mosaics Martí we strive every day to offer -at the dawn of the 21st century- cement tiles that combine optimum craftsmanship with the best raw materials to obtain the best result in our cement tiles.
Designs and quality of modernism and art deco are combined with the designs of new contemporary products, suitable for all spaces.
